DAY 30

By Doster and Grace

[Editor's Note: Today Doster (R) and Grace (L) - both Back 2 School students with NGM - were visiting our home and so I had the opportunity to interview them about their thoughts on God's LOVE and its overflow affect in their lives. These two Zambian girls' testimonies are a perfect finale for LOVEmber! Enjoy and Be blessed!]

Doster's Favourite Verse:

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Romans 8:18

This verse is meaningful to me because I know that even when I pass through difficult situations or things that are hard, one day God will reveal His glory upon my life.

Doster's Story:

As a younger girl I never knew if I would ever be able to complete my education. Things were tough. My father left my mother in the village alone to raise 9 daughters. People said I would never complete school. Five of my sisters dropped out of school because of becoming pregnant. In 2010 I started visiting New Gen Mission for evening prayers. I remember Pastor Happy speaking about the hope we have in God to come out of darkness into His wonderful light. He shared that poverty wasn't God's plan for us. From then I had faith and was determined to complete school so that I could work and be blessed to bless others. It is my desire to become a police officer and to help provide food, clothing and schooling for those in need.

[Editor's Note: Just this week Doster and Grace completed Grade 12! We praise God! Doster is the first child in her family to complete school. She has three younger sisters (in Grades 8, 4 and 2) whom we trust God will make a way for them to finish as well.]

Doster's Favourite Song:

Mwaliwama Yahweh (You are good Yahweh)

Mwaliwama Tata (You are good Father)

Fiwame Fibipe Mwaliwama ba Yahwe (Whether it's good or bad, You are good)

Nabuka uluchelo nalolesha kumulu (I wake up in the morning and look to heaven)

Fiwame Fibipe Mwaliwama ba Yahweh (Whether it's good or bad, You are good)

Nabuka uluchelo namona akasuba (I wake up in the morning and see the sun)

Fiwame Fibipe Mwaliwama ba Yahweh (Whether it's good or bad, You are good)

Grace's Favourite Verse:

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

In my life I have been through tough times but this verse always encourages me that God has good plans for me.

Grace's Story:

When I was just 2 years old my mother died and I moved in with my Grandmother. I stayed with her up until 2011. That year upon completing my Grade 7 exams, my uncle sent me to the hospital to look after my Grandmother who was very sick. Shortly after, she died. The eldest sister to my mom then took me into her home. In 2012 I did not manage to go to school. In 2013 and 2014 I was able to complete Grades 8 and 9. Again in 2015 I did not manage to go to school. Then a friend told me about Back 2 School so I went to NGM in January 2016 and have been able to complete Grades 10-12. Now my desire is to study law so that one day I will also be able to help those in need - the widows, widowers and orphans.

Grace's Favourite Song:

[Editor's Note: Please remember to pray for both Doster and Smart (we shared his story in October's NGM Update). Smart's father died just this week and Doster's mother passed away earlier this year. May the God of hope and all comfort, continue to comfort them in Jesus' Name.]
