By Beverley Powell

This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope.

Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.

They are new every morning: Great is Your Faithfulness,

The Lord is my portion says my soul, therefore I hope in Him.

Lamentations 3: 21-24

I love these verses, no matter what comes my way, in good times and in bad, I can always find comfort in this scripture. His faithfulness and His love never fail.

As a senior, I am involved in two wonderful humanitarian ministries, “Loads of Love" and “Sew on Fire”. Every week I see God's love displayed as volunteers minister in so many ways. These organizations are very successful because ordinary people give of their time, giftings and finances because they love the Lord and want to serve Him. As a result, people both at home and abroad are blessed. We are reminded over and over again of the Faithfulness of a Loving God.

Editor's Note: I can testify first hand that Beverley reflects God's faithful compassion. From the first time I met her (approx. 25 years ago), I saw her as a loving pastor's wife and mother of three. Generosity and hospitality are definite giftings she has shown to many - including myself, my family and New Gen Mission. Through the years she has written letters and e-mails of encouragement, sent us with 'loads of love' (first aid supplies, hygiene items, clothing, bedding, towels, etc) several times on our way to Africa and even sent banana boxes full of blessings to us while we were in Zambia - in fact, some are on the way here as I write this now!

Beverley Powell and her husband Ken (contributor for LOVEmber 8th) are now retired from full time pastoring. Beverley is the Director of a branch of Sew on Fire and is also very involved with Loads of Love ministry.
