July 2020 NGM Update

Dear Family and Friends,

We send you the bright, beautiful and colourful greetings of Zambia in the precious Name of Jesus Christ - the Name above every other name and the only Name under heaven by which we can be saved.

Here's an update concerning NGM and our family...

Like most parts of the world, coronavirus has brought about a much slower pace here in Zambia. As a result, during the lockdown, NGM ministries have been mostly set on hold. When the government let up on some restrictions, Smart and Helen were able to do some home visitations with B2S students. Until we have a proper school and boarding facilities set up, this will most likely be what B2S ministry will look like: home visitations and occasional gatherings. Thankfully, Grades 7, 9 and 12 students have recently been permitted to return to school as they will be writing exams later this year - this is an answer to prayer!

Please pray that our B2S students will not feel forgotten and that even in the midst of the changes, they would have opportunities to be discipled (the whole reason for NGM's existence), and, that they would fix their gaze on Jesus and seek the destiny our Heavenly Father has planned out specifically for each one of them.

Smart and Helen have also been able to focus on pursuing the land papers for the school land now that its been paid in full. Please pray that the title deeds would come speedily, smoothly and without hassle. A trip to the chief and the ministry of lands are in order. We need every official document before we can go ahead and fulfil our dream for the property.

Please pray for Helen and Smart that they would know God's guidance, protection and provision while our family is in Canada.

Our Family

Early last week we received an e-mail informing us that our flight had been cancelled since the airport was still on lockdown. Then just days later, someone came to our door asking if we had heard the good news!?! ... the president had just made a public statement saying the airports could be reopened! We were able to go to the Ndola airport the following day (last Friday) and rebook our flight that had been cancelled!!! Praise God! We will be leaving Ndola on Wednesday, July 29th and arriving in Toronto early Friday, July 31st (with a 24 hour+ layover in Ethiopia at the airline's expense).

We are asking you to please pray for safety as we travel as well as a place for us to stay in Canada where we will easily be able to do the expected 14 day self quarantine.

Another praise item is that Evangeline's tuition was paid in full for the BSSM 2020/2021 school year. And this was God's provision apart from funds through GCF. Our desire would be to see funds given through GCF to continue to be used for NGM ministry expenses. We will see how God provides for the ministry and our family this coming year! He is faithful and will do it! He cannot fail. What a faithful God we have! Where He guides, He provides. We will keep you informed!

We are asking you to please pray for us as we tie up all the loose ends here and prepare for both Canada and Redding. Our desire is to be in step with the Holy Spirit (Gal.5) all the way and that we would carry His presence wherever we are so that we may be His ambassadors and see many more come into His eternal Kingdom through Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour.

You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. Matthew 5:14 NLT

May God bless you as you partner with Him in whatever way that may look! Let us continually keep our gaze on Jesus and see how He will use us to impact this world for Christ!

Love and blessings in the Wonderful Name of Jesus,

Happy, Evangeline, Caia, Malaika and Josiah :) XOXOXO
