NGM May 2020 Update
Where Christ leads, we follow. He is our Master. We are His servants. We can never leave Him for another. We rather stay than move without a word from Him. But when He says, "Let's go!" - we do not hesitate.
He cannot fail us. It is against His nature to fail. But we can. For without faith it is impossible to please God. So we choose faith. We choose to believe that He exists and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him.
Selah. Pause and calmly think of that. We are moving into a season of Selah - a season where we take time to pause and diligently seek God.
We are headed to Bethel - "God's House!" A place where we are encouraged to diligently seek Him. A place where we are united with other believers with the sole desire of knowing God more.
As we wait on Him, He renews our strength. As we dwell in His presence, He shows us the hope of our calling - aligning us on our path. A path divinely chosen for us even before the world began.
So we press on to lay hold of what Christ lay hold for us. We refuse to strive on our own - spending our labour in vain. Instead, we sit at His feet where our roots grow deep - pushing us on to thrive.
And He who leads us, will carry out His purpose. He will do superabundantly far over and above all that we dare ask or think. We will bear fruit - fruit that will last.
Then on that Day, our Master will say, "Well done, my child, well done. You have followed faithfully and now your race is won."
A Season of Selah
Even as it seems God has allowed for the whole world to be set on pause during this time of Coronavirus Lockdown, so He has also been leading our family into a Season of Selah. Late August we will be heading to Redding, California where our family will be joining the Bethel community - and, Evangeline will be attending their school of ministry (BSSM).
We have agreed together with Helen and Smart that God has allowed this time of pause for NGM as well. As with many other nations of the world, schools and churches and other public gatherings were shut down in Zambia late March. We believe God has given us the leadway as a ministry to focus on building the school at such a time as this. Not until the school building project is complete will we reopen the school. We also believe the timing of the lockdown is a good leadway for Smart to take some time off for Bible/Mission training. God willing, when lockdown is finished, he will attend the OM discipleship training course in Kabwe (Zambia).
Our Season of Selah doesn't mark the death of NGM - the vision remains very much alive. We believe during this time we will all be more revived than ever before and will come out of the season with so much more to offer in Jesus' Name. We also believe Jesus will give us amazing opportunities to connect with many more laid down lovers who will have the desire and calling to be involved with NGM which in the end will cause the mission to flourish at a speed and growth greater than ever before - all for the praise of Christ and the expansion of His Kingdom! All glory belongs to Him throughout all ages and eternities.
The GCF has agreed to keep our NGM account open as long as we inform our supporters that donations will be used towards our living expenses and education during our Season of Selah (sabbatical/training). Any superabundance will be sent to continue the school building project and to help out where needed.
We are asking you to please pray for our family as we prepare for this big move. We thank God Josiah's passport is now in our hands and tickets for all our family have been purchased for our departure from Zambia to Canada on July 27th. There's a lot to be set in place by Redding -
including, arrangements for transportation, accommodation, tuition, school for girls, insurance, etc. We see God's hand in this journey and that He's got this and us at this time. He will lead and provide step by step and do superabundantly far over and above all we could ever dare ask or think.
Please also pray for Smart and Helen and all the lives connected with NGM - that all would know Christ's love, presence and provision during this time. Pray that the Grade 12s will be able to still write their exams this year and excel! Please pray that it would work out for Smart to attend OM. Please pray that the school building project would be completed in perfect timing and in alignment with God's great plan.
May God bless and keep you and all your loved ones during this pause. May you ever be aware of His abiding presence, peace and love. May He provide for your every need superabundantly far over and above all you could ever dare ask or think. He is faithful and He will do it.
May He be highly praised and glorified in and through all of us in Jesus' Name.
Love in Christ,
Caia, Malaika and Josiah
